From the Auberge you can stroll down through the vines to the river and its beaches with life guards for swimming, canoeing and kayaking, pedal boating and angling.
Canoe descents of the Ardèche River Gorges are organized from Sauze beach just 300m from the Auberge.
There are several signposted hiking and biking trails redolent of the wild grasses in the scrubland. Saint Martin is famous for its wild thyme.
In the village there are tennis courts, a mini golf, a playground and a French bowls (pétanque) pitch as well as organizers of quad, mountain biking and horseback excursions, angling, caving, local produce markets and many festivals and events.

The remarkable landscapes and the wealth and variety of its historic and prehistoric heritage are why the Ardèche River Gorges and their plateaus were classified as a protected nature reserve in 1980.
Saint Martin d’Ardèche, bathed in the sun of Provence, is a central point from which to explore Southern Ardèche, the Pont du Gard and Uzès, Beaucaire, Arles, the Camargue, Drôme Provencal the Haut Vaucluse and Avignon.
Nearby are Montélimar and its famous nougat, Pierrelatte and its crocodile farm, the Pont d’Arc, the Pont du Gard, Nimes and its Roman theatre and arena, Avignon – the home of the French Popes and Orange…
